resistor component

Have you ever wondered on what happened inside of your toys, or electronics devices? One of those little parts you will find if you look inside them is a resistor. These tiny parts are key to how every electrical circuit works and control the current flow in the application. So, without resistors many devices would not work or even will operate safely.

The actual resistor part looks like a small metal piece with two sticking out legs. The main task of the diode is to retard electricity speed, transit through it. Like I said, in the case of passing through a resistor; it will weaken. This is actually very crucial as it prevents other components from overheating and potentially failing. Exposing these components to too much electricity can cause them to heat up and, in the worst case, fail catastrophically killing the whole device.

How to read resistor color codes

When you look at a resistor they should have coloured bands sprayed on them. These color bands contain valuable information of resistor e.g. how much resistance it gives? Each color corresponds to a different number through which you may interpret the resistor's value.

The first colors on the resistor are the 1st and second color, But gives you principal numbers of resistance value. That middle color is the number of zeros you add to those two numbers and that last color tells how much it can change. The resistor color code, a really simple way of showing the numbers with colors.
